Photographic services from this studio have been available to area communities for over 135 years. This is the oldest known continuously operating photography studio in the country. Joseph Cramer, a civil war veteran, first opened the door in 1872. The tradition of excellence and personalized service has been carried forward through the years, led by John Cramer from 1898, Edward Laabs from 1903, Walter Burhop from 1926, and Michael Matthies from 1975. While the photographic tools and techniques have been updated through the years to provide loyal customers with the advantages afforded by modern technology, the same traditional, time-honored, family values have been upheld: commitment to quality, personalized service, and the creation and preservation of images designed to celebrate the beauty of every individual.
